Who we are
Githunguri Technical and Vocational College is a public middle-level college registered by the Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) in accordance with the TVET Act. The college operates under the Ministry of Education, State Department for Vocational and Technical Training, and is located in Kiambu County, Githunguri Constituency, Komothai location, Marigi sub-location.

Principal's message
The institution was opened in September 2023 to offer Building and Construction, ICT, Fashion Design, Mechanical Engineering ,Electrical and Electronics , Agriculture and business courses. It offers level 4,level 5 and level 6 courses as well as short courses examined by Curriculum Development Assessment and Certification Council (CDACC) and National Industrial Training Authority (NITA); the trainers have the requisite skills to transfer relevant skills knowledge and attitude to the trainees required for the job market and self-employment in the dynamic world.
In line with Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Act of 2013 the college is imparting its trainees with the necessary knowledge and skills for social economic development in business, science and technology. The mandate of the institution is to train competent Human Resource for social economic development at TVET level.
The institute’s strategic obligations revolve around promoting Technical Training through access to quality training. Technical vocational education and training is a major player in the economic growth of the country as its main objective is to develop an effective coordinated and harmonized system that is capable of producing quality and skilled human resource with the right attitudes and values required for growth and prosperity of the various sectors of the economy. It is part of the education system that provides courses and training programmes related to employment to enable trainees from secondary level of education to work and supply the labour market consequently reducing the unemployment rate in the society.
History
GTVC was established to serve Kenya's and global growing demand for skilled, work-ready graduates. As a public TVET institution, the college has grown its departments from foundational trade areas into a fuller offering spanning ICT, engineering, hospitality, business, fashion, cosmetology and agriculture.
